Infinite Stew (first draft)
I’ve released the first draft of Infinite Stew.
Get it: BANDCAMP | EVERYWHERE ELSE
This is the starting point. Most of these tracks were recorded in December 2025, when I had just come off of a long tour with Capyac & Marc Rebillet. I went to the studio every day for three weeks and made music with no specific goal in mind, just writing songs as they came, trying to follow my intuition. Because my intuition is a fickle thing, none of the songs fit into any existing project (I have 5 active aliases 😓), and I decided to abandon them. I had gotten what I needed out of them just by making them.
But then! — I had a dream on February 3, 2026 about this concept of the always-releasing, never-finished album, and decided this batch of tunes would be perfect fit for that.
Shoutout to Harry Terrell, who gave me the name for the project.
Here’s the tracklist:
01 infinite stew intro (placeholder)
I made this in 30 minutes because I realized the album should have an intro. It’s a Rhodes recording I took a few months ago, a couple Pigments presets, a random break from the sample library, and an iPhone voice memo.
02 and you know (final lyrics??))
This is the most complete song on the album. I like these lyrics, I mostly like the production. If there were a single, this would be it.
03 on and on (bad drums)
A song I wrote inspired by the Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin. I played the drums on a Yamaha MX61 Keyboard (“UK Garage” kit) run through a phaser.
04 meov (instr NEEDS VOX) - dubby ending
An instrumental named after a place in the Broken Earth trilogy (I had just finished re-reading it all at the time I was making all these demos). The main riff that starts it is a loop from my Eurorack and Rhodes. The messy arp is the Prophet Rev2, and the bass is the Prophet 6.
05 voice memo to obie, 03 feb 2026 @ 09:56
This is a 2023 instrumental placed underneath the voice memo I sent to Obie immediately upon waking up from the dream that inspired this project.
06 look at your mind (more verb mix) INSTR
I love this instrumental. No idea what the vocal is going to be, but I think it’s gonna be a nice soft banger when I finally get it.
07 everything is hybrid INSTR
Not much to say about this one. Sonically it worketd into the rest of the album, so it’s here. Probably needs vocals but I didn’t manage to think of anything in time.
08 orcas ballad 1 instrumental
R&B ballad I made while at a residency on Orcas Island, entirely in headphones (the drum mix is atrocious). All of the synths come from the Prophet Rev2. I wasn’t going to include this one, but I need the runtime to be over 30 minutes for it to be considered an “album” by DSPs.
09 exactly what u came for - scratch vox idea dec 6
This is a one-take improvised vocal I did. Just doing what we in the industry call “catching a vibe.” I did 3 or 4 takes across the whole track and this was the one I liked the most. It’s extremely rough, not something I’d normally show anyone.
Hope you enjoy the first draft of the record as much as it’s possible to enjoy listening to unfinished music — I’ll see you in a month or so with the next version!
